Miley Cyrus graces the cover of the new Vanity Fair next to the bold words, Miley Rising.
This is a reference to not only her Phoenix-like recovery from the fire that destroyed her Malibu home, but also her growth as a person and artist.
In the wide ranging interview she discusses how both that evolution and her past are impacting the sound of her upcoming album.
"There’s psychedelic elements, there’s pop elements, there’s more hip-hop-leaning records," she tells the magazine. "You know, in the same way I like to kind of just be genderless, I like feeling genre-less. This new album will be just kind of a mosaic of all the things that I’ve been before."
As far as when we’ll get to hear it, she says at least some music will arrive this summer.
