The Bachelor’s Arie Luyendyk Jr. Dumps Fiancée for Runner-Up Live on Camera

WARNING!! Below contains spoilers from the Monday, March 5, finale of The Bachelor.

We have no words. Season 22 Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. has angered America and Bachelor Nation after breaking Lauren Burnham’s heart, proposing to Becca Kufrin and then dumping Becca live on-camera during a devastatingly raw unedited season 22 finale.

In the shocking unedited clip, Arie met up with Becca a couple weeks after getting engaged during the finale. Becca assumed they were going to spend the weekend together, but unbeknownst to her, Arie had previously told host Chris Harrison that he’s still in love with runner-up Lauren B. and needs to call things off with Becca.

The breakup ended with Arie explaining to a shocked Becca that he thinks about Lauren B. every day and needs to figure out if he can work things out with her. Becca takes off her stunning engagement ring and after asking Arie to leave several times, retreats to the bathroom where viewers could hear her sobbing.

Arie has since faced major, MAJORRR backlash, with contestants of season 22 and former Bachelor alums bashing him.

“And I thought Arie was boring??? This dude out here making Juan Pablo look like Mother Teresa,” Bachelor alum Tanner Tolbert tweeted, while season 22 contestant Bekah M. (the nanny) added: “hahahahahaha @ariejr is the biggest f--king tool i’ve ever seen. becca is a queen. a goddess. thank the LORD he’s out of her life.”

That said, Arie has no regrets over his decision.

“I am very happy and it’s been an experience that I will remember forever,” the race car driver told Us Weekly. “I really have no regrets doing it. All I can really say is that I’m very happy and it’s going to be fun for me to watch that back. … I think there’s criticism every season and I think that I handled that well,” he added. “At the end of the day, it’s all about finding that person for myself and being happy after all this. I really feel like I will be.”

Watch the devastatingly horrible moment above. The Bachelor concludes with a two-hour live After the Final Rose special, starting at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, tonight.
