Adam Levine Claims 'There's No Bands Anymore': 'They're A Dying Breed'

Adam Levine had some bold thoughts to share while reflecting on the early days of Maroon 5.

In a recent interview to promote his band's new single, "Beautiful Mistakes," a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, Levine, 41, claimed that "there aren’t any bands anymore." "It's funny, when the first Maroon 5 album came out, there were still other bands," he declared. "I feel like there aren’t any bands anymore, you know? That’s the thing that makes me kind of sad. There’s no bands anymore, and I feel like they’re a dying breed."

After recognizing the gravity of his statement, he went on to (somewhat) clarify that he just wants more bands on the scene. "I mean, there still are plenty of bands, and maybe they’re not in the limelight quite as much, or in the pop limelight, but I wish there could be more of those around," he continued.

Levine, who shares two daughters, Dusty, 4, and Gio, 3, with wife Behati Prinsloo, also said that he's been playing his daughters old Avril Lavigne records. "You go back and rewatch these old videos and listen to these old songs … that gives you tears. It's crazy, because you don’t remember it in the same way, because you took it for granted. … It was just part of what you had on the radio," the singer reminisced. "There’s some really great songs that I didn’t understand how good they were back then."
