Elton John Will Be Spilling 'Rocketman' Secrets During Live Watch Party

Need some new Friday night plans that don't involve puzzles or re-watching the same TV show? How about watching Rocketman with Sir Elton John?

The legendary performer announced on Thursday (May 28), that he'll be hosting a watch party of his 2019 biopic, starring Taron Egerton, to celebrate a year after the film was released in theaters.

Fans can watch the movie with the “I'm Still Standing” singer starting at 7pm ET/4pm PT Friday (May 29) and tweet along with him using the hashtag #RocketmanWatchParty.

During the film, the 73-year-old musician will be spilling some secrets about the movie as well as sharing his thoughts about certain scenes. It's definitely the next best thing to actually chatting to him in person about the biopic!

“I can’t express the joy this is bringing me in a really low time in my life . Can’t wait,” one fan shared. While another wrote, “I’m in. Clearing my schedule right now! Sleep will have to wait.”

Virtual watch parties have been a great way for artists to stay connected to fans during the coronavirus pandemic quarantine. Mötley Crüe also hosted a watch party for its 2019 Netflix biopic, The Dirt, a few weeks ago.

The watch party isn't the only initiative Elton John is taking during the COVID-19 pandemic, last month he launched a $1 million COVID-19 emergency fund through his Elton John AIDS Foundation to help ensure HIV care during these trying times.

He also hosted the iHeartRadio Living Room Concert For America which raised over $10 million for COVID-19 relief.
