Jinger Duggar Welcomes First Child, A Baby Girl, With Husband Jeremy Vuolo

The Duggar family just expanded with the birth of Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo and her husband Jeremy's first child, a baby girl, PEOPLE reported on Thursday (July 19).

As per the outlet, Jinger gave birth to Felicity Nicole Vuolo at 4:37 AM on Thursday, with the newborn weighing in at 8 lbs. and 3 oz. and 19.5 inches long. Jeremy sounded overwhelmed by his newborn child, as per his statement to the magazine. "God is so kind," he told the outlet. "Both mom and baby are healthy, doing great, and resting well. We are very thankful for her safe arrival and look forward to life as parents!"

As the story goes, the first-time parents learned that they were expecting a daughter through a relay race in April. The course, which was completed by friends and family in Laredo, Texas, saw the family split into one team representing a boy and the other team representing a girl. Whoever won the relay race had the big honor of flipping a baby switch and revealing the sex of their child. "We are so happy to announce that we are having a little baby girl!" the couple told PEOPLE at the time. "We could not be more excited and are eagerly anticipating meeting our little lady this summer. We especially love thinking forward and realizing that she will have excellent role models in both of her grandmothers, who cannot wait to shower her with love."
