Jon Hamm Says Jeremy Renner Broke Both Of His Arms While Filming 'Tag'

Turns out Jeremy Renner was filming a movie called Tag, which features names like Ed Helms and Jon Hamm, while he was shooting Avengers: Infinity War in Atlanta and broke both of his arms during the process. News of the star's double injury was detailed during Hamm's recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in promotion for the comedy, which hits theaters on June 15.

"We had several on-set injuries, the most notable being Jeremy Renner who broke both of his arms at the same time [on] day three of production. We had 40 more days to go," the Mad Men star told the crowd, insisting that he wasn't even on-set when the accident happened. "Now, keep in mind, this is a man who's done 100 Avengers movies and been fine. And he does a movie about playing tag — both arms. Like firewood, just snapped like a matchstick."

Thankfully, we have the power of technology to thank for Renner's later appearances in the film as his green cast was digitally removed from shots in post-production. The film also stars Hannibal Buress and Jake Johnson.

As for what Tag is about, well, the upcoming film is exactly what you think it is about. "[This is] a real group of real adults with real jobs [that] take one month out of the year and play tag, and try to tag one another for no money for seriously just the pride in not being the last one tagged," the 47-year-old star explained of the project, which was inspired by true events. "Again, these are adults with jobs that they leave to go find their friends and go tag them."
