There's been a lot of talk about the relationship status of Liam Payne and girlfriend Cheryl Cole.
Some days reports say the couple has secretly gotten married (partially due to the fact that Liam refers to Cheryl as his 'missus' and they share son Bear together), and other days the reports say the couple has actually broken up.
So what's the truth?
Liam said in Es Magazine that he believes they are "somewhere in the middle."
"You know, we have our struggles. Like, of course I'm not gonna sit here and say that everything's absolutely fine and dandy, because of course you go through different things, and that's what a relationship is."
The pair made a rare public outing together in February for the 2018 BRIT Awards, in the midst of rumors that they two had broken up. But even in their admitted struggles, Liam says the important thing is that they "go through them as a family."
He also acknowledges that all relationships go through their struggles at some point, and the fact that he and Cheryl are dealing with their own shouldn't be a shock.
"Tell me a relationship in the world that doesn't go through a spot like that? It's about whether you make it through or not, together, is the main point there, I guess."
And does being in the spotlight affect their relationship? Definitely. But Liam also knows that dating someone who understands the music industry, Cheryl is a former member of Girls Aloud and definitely understands the craziness of the industry, is important.
As for their son Bear, they intend on keeping him as private as he chooses to be as he gets older.
"I wanna give him the chance [to live privately]... If I take it away from him now, he never has the chance to go back."
You know, I think Liam really seems to have a great head on his shoulders, both in dealing with a public relationship and in parenting. It's been so great watching he and the other guys of One Direction grow up in front of us.
