Jordin Sparks Breaks Silence About Little Sister's Death In Emotional Note

On Wednesday (Jan. 31), news broke that Jordin Sparks' 16-year-old step-sister, Bryanna Jackson-Frias, died from complications from sickle cell anemia, which she battled for her entire life.

For those who aren't aware, the illness is "an inherited form of anemia — a condition in which there aren't enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen throughout your body," per Mayoclinic.org's definition.

Sparks' mother, Jodi Jackson, announced the devastating news on Facebook. "Bry went peacefully to Heaven. I can’t help to think that she’s smiling just like this. Thank you all for your prayers," she posted a photo of her daughter smiling in a bed. You can take a look at that message below.

After this news was shared, Sparks went on social media to pay tribute to her little sister and others. That's right, Jackson-Frais wasn't the only person that the "American Idol" alum lost recently. In fact, Sparks revealed that she lost four people who were close to her this past week alone.

On Instagram, Sparks posted a slideshow of her little sister and two other close ones that just died. “Four angels in a week. My heart is just so heavy & broken. I'm in shock, numb and feel everything all at the same time," she captioned the post. "Leah & Rasual (one of my closest friends and her amazing other half who also was a great friend), Bryanna (my step sister) and Q (my little cousin), you were such bright lights in this crazy world. You made everyone better just by knowing them. And your smiles made anyone's day better. The world is less sparkly without you in it. Rest In Peace and Power.” Take a look at that note below.
