Fifth Harmony Put Their 'Blood, Sweat and Tears' Into Upcoming Album

Fifth Harmony is back with a whole new narrative. Ally Brooke called in to On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Thursday, August 10, to discuss Fifth Harmony’s upcoming self-titled album and the dynamic of the group since the exit of former member Camila Cabello.

“We co-wrote more than half of this album,” Brooke shared of her bandmates Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui. “We put our blood, sweat and tears in to this. … You get to hear us as you’ve never heard us before.”

Their self-titled album, which features 10 tracks, drops on August 25.

“It’s cool because for this record we were able to be in pairs for the most part to write the songs,” Brooke added of their creative process. “For example, Normani and I would go in to [the studio] and that’s how we created ‘Messy’ … so you kind of have that extra personal attachment when it’s coming from you.”

The group has made headlines since the abrupt exit of Cabello but couldn’t sound more in-tune since refocusing themselves as a group of four.

Brooke, who is the eldest of the group, confirms she’s indeed the mama bear.

“I am the oldest of the group and I do feel it is my responsibility to definitely make sure everybody has good energy and everyone is communicating with each other and we are all on the same page,” the 24-year-old concluded.
