Ed Sheeran Deletes Twitter Within 24 Hours Of 'Games Of Thrones' Cameo

Ed Sheeran surprised folks everywhere when he made a cameo in Sunday's (July 16) Game of Thrones season premiere, but his appearance prompted a mix of positive and negative reactions. Less than 24 hours since the episode, the singer also left the Twitterverse, leading folks to believe he jumped ship because of the negativity.

After the episode aired on Sunday, Sheeran was nowhere to be found on the social media site. Meanwhile, he seemed like he was in good spirits on Instagram, where he shared a photo of him and his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn "climbing mountains in Peru." Take a look at his post below!

Still, the singer/songwriter has always had a troublesome relationship with the realm of social media. Earlier this summer, the 26-year-old clarified a viral quote about him quitting Twitter. "Q magazine is out now. Also loads of Hoo-har about me quitting stuff," he wrote. "I haven't quit anything, I'm just not reading anything, except Harry Potter. Hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th yo."

You can, however, catch Ed on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons as he'll voice a musician named Brendan on a musical-themed episode, titled "Haw-Haw Land," in the 29th season. "He keeps alternating [between], 'You’re not that great, but you could be fantastic,' and she keeps falling for him because of his talent," executive producer Al Jean told EW of his flirty relationship with Lisa.
