Although Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale both starred in Disney Channel's massive High School Musical franchise, the two best friends were never assigned to perform a duet together.

Eleven years later, Hudgens joined Tisdale for the latest installment of her YouTube series, "Music Sessions," and made up for lost time by unveiling their long-overdue cover of Elle King's "Ex's & Oh's."

"I read all of your comments and you guys wanted one very special guest, and so I brought her in, my best friend Vanessa Hudgens!" Tisdale introduced the performance. "We're really excited to do this because this is actually like our first duet together. We did not have a song in High School Musical just the two of us. We always wanted one, too!"

Accompanied by Tisdale's husband Christopher French, who provided the acoustic guitar arrangements, the pair pitched a bohemian-inspired fort where they swapped verses on King's 2015 breakout single and reworked it into a mesmerizing, downtempo duet.

For past Music Sessions, Tisdale and French, who stepped out as a couple in December 2012 and got married in September 2014, have performed "It's Alright, It's Ok" off Tisdale's second studio album, Guilty Pleasure, and their special love song, "Still Into You," by Paramore.
