Twenty-six years ago today, Liam Hemsworth was born in Melbourne, Australia.
As a teenager, he laid floors before becoming an actor like his older brothers, Chris and Luke.
Liam landed his first audition at age 16.
Soon after he was making guest appearances on Australian TV shows. Then he booked a recurring role as a paraplegic named Josh Taylor on the Australian soap opera, Neighbours.
After a couple of years, Liam got his big break and was cast opposite Sylvester Stallone in the 2010 film The Expendables.
Unfortunately, his character was written out of the script.
He was then asked to audition for the lead role in Thor, but he lost that part to his brother Chris, who ironically stole his thunder.
Liam wound up landing the lead in the 2010 drama The Last Song opposite Miley Cyrus.
As things started to heat up offscreen for Liam and Miley...
He scored his biggest role yet, as Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games.
Liam would go on to star in the Hunger Games sequels, as well as in flicks like Empire State with Emma Roberts and Paranoia with Harrison Ford, but it was his on-again, off-again relationship with Miley that really scored him headlines.
They got engaged in 2012.
The two called it off a year later. However recently, the pair have been seen together again.
Liam is currently filming Independence Day: Resurgence, which comes out in June.
Happy Birthday Liam!
