After news broke that Aaron and Nick Carter's dad, Bob Carter, passed away in Florida at age 65 on Tuesday, both singers took to social media to confirm their heartbreaking loss.

The Backstreet Boys singer tweeted about his father's passing on Wednesday, writing, "I am heartbroken to share the news that our father, Robert, passed away last night…" He also said the cause of Bob's untimely passing is still unknown and asked everyone to respect their privacy: "While we learn more about the cause of death, and begin the grieving process, we ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time."

Aaron paid tribute to his dad by sharing their last photo together with the accompanying caption, "My heart is completely shattered I'm in shock and I loved my dad so much #RIP DADDY I Love You."

In another tweet, the "Sooner Or Later" singer admitted, "I'm really messed up right now."

He went on to share another photo on Instagram and praised his dad for being superhuman: "My heart is broken, We are so hurt we lost you poppa way too soon. You were never human to me, you were always my real life super hero."

There is very little detail about Bob's cause of death, according to TMZ who obtained their information from sources close to the family.

Bob was a star on the family reality show House of Carters, which also featured Nick, Aaron, and their three other siblings Leslie, Angel, and Bobbie. Their sister Leslie passed away at 25 in New York in 2012.
